Admire the colorful birds and the majestic ruins of the Archeological Site of Uxmal in a trip through some of the treasures of the Mayan World
Begin your journey with a pickup service from your hotel in Merida before the sunrise to get very early in the morning to Uxmal known to be a place of legend and myth, situated within a series of hills known as the Puuc, or “mountainous area” in the Maya.
You and your guide will go at dawn to search some of the most exotic birds who live in this mysterious place of the Mayan World. You will be able to find exotic species of birds like the Thicket Tinamu, the Yucatan bobwhite, the Crane Hawk, Yucatecan Woodpecker, Ornate Hawk-Eagle, the Orange Oriole and much more.
After breakfast you will continue this bird watching experience in Uxmal Archaeological Sites, considered one of the best places to do this activity in the Yucatan Peninsula. Go with your guide exploring this majestic site and watching birds at the same time.
Admire buildings like the colossal Magicians Pyramid, the impressive Governors Palace, intricate Dove’s Temple and grand Nuns Quadrangle. This archaeological structures and buildings located throughout Uxmal are ornamented with geometrical figures and masks of the rain god, Chaac. The rain god was considered by the Maya people as one of the most important of their deities.
At the end of your journey you will be transfer back to your hotel, arriving at Merida around noon approximately.
